Brigitte Bardot popular French fashion model turned actress has a rich portfolio consisting of impressive French pop music. She entered the world of music and dance following encouragement from her mother. Her career then took off in films and her explosive sexuality took the world by storm. She was a great ballet dancer and modeled for fashion magazines. She was also featured in the French magazine, Elle. After she retired from films she became an animal right's activist.

 

 

Charles Aznavour has written more than 800 songs. His songs have been translated into English, Spanish and German. Beginning during his kindergarten days, he displayed an enormous talent in music, and worked hard to pay for his singing and dance lessons. Carla Bruni is an Italian- French singer, songwriter, actress. She was also a former model. She is married to Nicolas Sarcozy who is the President of the French Republic. Her mother was a concert pianist. Her music career was popular between the years of 1997 to 2005.

 

 

Julien Clerc was introduced to the world of music by his parents and started playing the piano by the age of 6. He met his future song writers during his university days, and released his first album when he was 21. He starred in many successful concerts and by 1970 was the most popular icon in French pop music.

 

 

The general feeling is that the music is excellent and if it is authentic, you will enjoy it. Listening to French pop music puts a smile on your face and is a good way to meet new people. It is even better when some of those friends are francophone.

 

 

 

There is a genre of music known as French pop music. French pop music and Chanson both have their place in the French culture. What started out as two distinctive forms of music eventually combined together and became the sound we hear today. Singers, who came from francophone countries, such as Belgium, Haiti and France mostly did this style of music. Francophone means that their national language is French.
